Our Club

On May 25, 1995 the Leavenworth Soccer Association received their Kansas business designation as a not for profit corporation.

Leavenworth Soccer Association (LSA)

The Recreational Director oversees the recreational program.

LSA has served the Leavenworth community by offering Fall and Spring recreational soccer under a contract with the City of Leavenworth. Spring 2020 season had over 300 players register continuing growth in the program for over 5 years! Volunteers for coaching, team managers, and concessions are always needed.

LSA have been good stewards of Leavenworth's 10th Avenue Park which is our soccer complex. The historic trolley station was donated and we paid to have it moved to the park as the LSA office. The concession building and covered pavilion are also LSA additions to the park over the years, as well as the access pathway to the fields.

Leavenworth United Soccer Club (LUSC)

LUSC is the competitive program for the association, and is overseen by the Competitive Director.

LUSC has served the Leavenworth and surrounding community by offering Fall and Spring competitive soccer at the most affordable cost across the entire Kansas City Metro area (2019-2020 cost comparison). Additionally, LUSC offers a winter season of Futsal, an indoor soccer-like sport played on basketball courts from November - February, with 8 games each season. In 2019-2020 there were about 250-300 competitive players for each season. High School athletes play their soccer season (Boys in the Fall, Girls in the Spring) and they tend to join us for the other two seasons.

Fall Season:

Tryouts are on the first three Saturday's in June each year for the Fall outdoor soccer season. We play in the Heartland Soccer League which is the largest soccer league and tournament host in the country with over 30,000+ players. They have four amazing world class turf facilities that LUSC games are played on. Wyndotte Sporting Fields is the closest game location, which is just on the other side of the Legends shopping complex. Garmin's new Olathe Soccer Complex is about a 40 minute drive, just east of the K10 and K7 intersection, an easy commute. Games are also at Swope Park near the Kansas City zoo, and at Scheel's Overland Park complex.

Winter Season:

Tryout dates for new interested players are held in early November once we move indoors. LUSC coaches with their teams have participated in indoor soccer and futsal leagues in winter months. In Winter of 2019-2020 every team played futsal. Futsal has a roster limit of 11 players and a minimum of 7 so sometimes a team with a range of birth years - like the HS teams are able to split into additional age brackets under the same coach. For example, the U15 girls and U19 girls fall outdoor teams split into U14, U16 and U18 teams for futsal in collaboration between the two coaches.

Spring Season:

Tryout dates for new interested players are held in early December indoors. LUSC coaches and their teams play in the Heartland Soccer League again in the spring, with games starting in late February/early March through May.

LSA Mission Statement

The Leavenworth Soccer Association (LSA) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization committed to the youth of our community. Our goal is to promote, coordinate, and administer, the game of soccer within Leavenworth, Kansas and the surrounding communities with emphasis on developing skills and a love for the game.

To achieve this mission LSA programs include: (1) Recreational youth soccer¹to include the creation and continue development of soccer facilities, (2) Recreational adult soccer, (3) Competitive program, (4) Tournaments, (5) Summer Camps, (6) Coach and Referee Development.
